Borislav Petrov
Borislav Petrov has been the Executive Director of INSAIT since December 2021. He has been engaged with the operational work of the institute since February 2021.
Borislav was born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1984, and graduated from the mathematics high school in his hometown Blagoevgrad. He received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and M.Sc. in Information Technology from Mannheim University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Borislav Petrov worked in various R&D teams of leading technology companies and organizations such as Siemens, BASF, FZI, and Sirona Dental Systems. Looking for new opportunities, Petrov moved to Zurich where he worked for Thoratec and Siemens Mobility AG developing a successful career. After spending 14 years abroad, he moved back to Bulgaria and co-founded a successful engineering company in the field of embedded systems and IoT. For many years Borislav was actively involved in the formation and governance of several NGOs.
