Linda Fowler (also Glover) is a fictional character from the BritishITVsoap operaEmmerdale, played by Tonicha Jeronimo from 1994 to 1997. It was reported on 6 May 1997 that Jeronimo had quit the soap after three years. The character was killed off in a car crash in October 1997, as part of the show's 25th anniversary celebrations.
Casting
[edit]Jeronimo was 16 years old when she was offered the role of Linda. She had been taking her GCSE exams when she attended the audition for the serial.[1] She explained "It was like something out of Hollywood. I passed the audition and by the Monday I was working on the show. It was like falling in love, a whirlwind romance, a dream."[1]
In an interview with Dave Jones, published in the North Wales Weekly News, Jeronimo described Linda in her early scenes as "quite a flighty, fun character".[1] However

Tonicha has been married to Stuart Wade, who played Linda's husband Biff Fowler, since 2000 and they have two children.
Tonicha has since left the acting industry and in 2003, trained to be a police officer, although, in 2016, she appeared in Casualty alongside her daughter Sydney Wade under her married name Tonicha Lawrence.
After leaving, Jeronimo was vocally critical of the show, speaking to The Mirror in January 1998 about her negative experiences with producers. She revealed how she had major skin problems, caused by hair dye, after Producer Mervyn Watson told her there were too many blondes on the show and pushed her to dye her hair. This, combined with what Jeronimo felt were constant depressing storylines, pushed her to quit the role, planning to leave by the end of the end of her contract in December 1997. Watson asked Jeronimo to reconsider, but, after refusing, was told wouldn't be needed past 2nd September. Jeronimo later stated, "I'm not sure why they did it.
