Hannah Prentice, PhD, MSc, BSc, Springer Nature, UK
Hannah joined the BMC Series as an Associate Editor in October 2022. She holds a BSc in Biomedical Sciences and a MRes degree specialising in Urology, both from the University of Portsmouth. Throughout her BSc, she evaluated the impact of muscarinic antagonists on contractility of the bladder tissue, a topic that then informed her Master’s research where she studied the effects of aging on the morphology of bladder cells. Hannah went on to submit a mixed-methods PhD in Medicine at King’s College London, with a focus on joint contractures in older populations. Throughout her time in London, she also acted as a teaching assistant for the MSc Public Health course, an experience that led her into the field of scientific communication. She is an enthusiastic proponent of open access publishing and is eager to continue the development of BMC Geriatrics.
